Branding: SweetLife™

Brand Development, Product Packaging, Product Identity, Art Direction, Graphic Design

For a Beverage Company Start up in New York, I was tasked with creating a brand identity for both the product and the company as a whole.

The company would be focused on diabetes sensitive products and wanted their brand to reflect this. The brief wanted the identity to be centered on natural organic messaging as well as offering a contemporary sensual and happy “vibe”.

Due to the limited budget of this startup there was not very much market/user research to follow, and the timeline was very tight, but I started the project with an intensive week of competitive & immersion research into the diabetes management industry, and related market environments to get a grasp of the environment these products would launch into.

I approached the typography to reflect both a playful flippant quality with a contemporary life science typeface.

Logo version one, incorporating elements of the world diabetes association,
and the colors of the launch flavors. Two possible variations of the same elements,
one for the actual bottles and one for more rectangular packaging such as multipacks.

In this version I kept the life science aspect of the logo but use a more matte 2.5D type treatment for the word “Sweet”.
Here, a less successful treatment using a fatter & fun display typeface.
