I designed posters, postcards, collateral, and other marketing materials for Pasíon Y Arte, a world-renowned flamenco dance troupe, for a series of events, including the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, leading up to the 2012 International Flamenco Festival, which the organization led and hosted in Philadelphia.
Inspired by Flamenco’s dark and romantic roots, I infused the print marketing campaign with gritty textures, earthy hues, and intense emotions reminiscent of old-world Spain, capturing the deep connection between this dance and musical form and the richness of Andalusian culture.
I created illustrations based on existing documentary images of the troupe’s dancers, layering them with textures of crumbling wall paints, decorative patterns, and painterly brush strokes that evoke the dancers’ movements.
I worked with the dance troupe’s principal to create a vision and direction that met the intensity of the projects they were presenting.
